I bought a Gorilla Gear monopod at Cabelas in Post Falls a few years ago. Sounds like what you want. Adjusts for length with telescoping sections, has a removeable Y rubber rest, 1/4-20 thread for camera mount, (I screw my Jack-Attack Coyote Decoy on it) and has a sharp point to stick in the ground, not a blunt foot like most of them have. I also use it as a walking stick, because my balance isn't as good as it used to be when I'm on uneven ground.

How big is your lens/camera set up. I went with some cheap ones in the days, 19.00 at best buy, but I broke a couple. Finally bought a nice one.

If you don't ahve the budget, you can get by with the ones at bestbuy for about 20 bucks. They are light and pretty simple to use. I did it for years. My camera lens is 13 pounds. It was too much for them.

Sportsmans Warehouse had a great deal on a Vanguard mono with the universal quick-disconnect attach plate (was not a Manfroto joystick) for around $60.
I almost bought it, but bought more ammo instead, lol
