Probably depend on how the law is written but everything pre ban was legal to keep from my understanding. Manufacturers worked around the law to keep selling and producing these semi autos, that's from what I read anyways,  though they just were limited in certain cosmetic features.

That's a very good question.

Today's comments by Obama give a very clear picture of where this is headed.  Every gun is to be registered (assault weapon or not).  No more face to face sales.  Is it becoming clearer?  You will be on the federal governments list no matter what, and if you, as Obama puts it, are not responsible enough to "be put on their list", then you will become an outlaw.  Criminal... ever what word you want to use.

No, you will not be allowed to keep it "legally"...  and good luck getting ammo.

I fear too many good intentioned Americans have no idea what is coming at them.  They like to see the good in everyone, even when there is none to be seen.  This isn't a game.  They are doing exactly what you'd expect in a war.  Divide us by attacking the NRA, then divide us by using words such as "assault weapon" or "responsible" or "reasonable"...  but the end game is the same.  It is very much like the movie "The Green Mile" where the evil guy uses "Their love for each other" to kill the two little girls.  That is what Obama and the left is doing.  They are using our goodness against us.  Most don't even see it.

Just got reading an article written by a pro gun Democrat.  It is actually very good and does a great job explaining what the old assault weapons ban was and what a possible new one would look like.  The conclusion is that any reasonable person cannot justify the bans on effectiveness, only on emotions.  It is a long article but very informative, in fact we could only wish that all Democrats were this intelligent.  Here is the link.

so does this mean if they dont just simply grandfather them in like last time and do what 300 mag sugests and yes I beleive they can and might do we that have said we'd fight still fight even though all their coming for is the so called owners of assault weapons.
I say yes but want to hear others.

When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

If we keep giving a inch it's not long before they take a mile. I'm ok with more indepth back ground checks and waiting periods , but this country was founded around guns and our right to protect ourselves and famillys it  is what makes it so great. We might aswell just elliminate alcohol aswell since it kills so many people hell just get rid of cars since there dangerous . Wait maybe  we should all just smoke a dubbey and chill out !

They just said on the news 46% of Americans support gun control, only 42% support gun rights. I thought for sure we would out number the antis... Pretty scary stuff.

Carp what kinda guns you got for sale?

I think any hunter who is not a member of the NRA, or Gun Owners of America really ought to consider joining.. Who else is fighting for us? With all this crap going on I think everyone who owns a gun and cares at all should be e-mailing their senators and representatives urging them to oppose any and all gun bans that come out of this.. might not make a difference, but a few thousand progun e-mails might have a real effect. Pretty much all the elected reps have a website, so its like a 5 minute process... What do we have to lose? might be the only chance we have to fight this...
