Winners Choice has new owner
« on: December 28, 2012, 04:37:01 AM »
I was shocked to hear the news this morning.  One more thing Elite Archery/The Outdoor Group is doing right.  I'm wishing them all the best!

I knew about the CBE, Scott and Mossback purchases.  You were definitely better connected than me about the Winners Choice thing.  It caught me by surprise.  They are one of the companies that have been inquiring about buying us too.  They're definitely in an active acquisition mode right now.  And I believe they are doing a darned good job of it too.  Once they get fully moved into the new facility and figure out a way to streamline the riser dipping they should be really jumping in their climb up the premium bow marketshare.  One good stumble by PSE, Hoyt or Bowtech and both Elite and Strothers look well poised to leap up the ladder.

Not sure where Mossback/Duel Game Calls fits into the line.  Seemed like a rather odd purchase for them.  And after spending a good amount of time at the Duel booth during the ATA it still seems just as odd.  I kinda got the feeling they are just going to tread water until their new line of turkey call designs are complete and ready to hit the market.  Just seemed dang weird when the other acquisitions were ready to rock right out of the gate.

The rumor mill was really churning at the ATA about both The Outdoor Group (Elite) and Faradyne (Rage).  Seemed every other customer stopping by the booth had heard of other acquisitions in the works by one or the other. Throw a little blood in the water and the rumors were on a serious feeding frenzy.  Nothing I could verify, but it makes for some fun brain teasers. I expect a few will become reality rather soon, but most I'd expect to be pure fantasy.  Should be a fun year to watch.

As far as RAD, Inc. we had a good number of meetings and conversations at the show.  A lot of interest but in the end we decided this is not the year we sell.  The new designs are just so strong that everyone actively involved with RAD agreed they want us to retain ownership for at least another few years.  And our sales staff likes not having all their eggs in one basket so to speak.  So as much as the work load will be almost impossible without added employees we are going to attempt to explode the company offerings in 2013.

I am still refusing to participate in the Obamacare crap as we already give over half our earnings to the fed.  So we need to figure out a way to streamline a lot of things.  Will probably have my partner quit his job to come to work with us full time.  Exciting times for sure!  Scary times without question.
