Jack Daniel's BBQ Sauce

1/2 large onion
4 cloves garlic - Chopped
2 cups ketchup
1/3 cup vinegar
1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
1/2 Cup brown sugar - packed
3/4 cup molasses
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup tomato paste
2 tsp liquid smoke
1/2 tsp tobasco
bourbon or whiskey to taste
Combine onion, garlic, and bourbon in 3 quart saucepan.
Saute till onion and garlic are transluscent, about 10 minutes.
Add all ingredients, bring to a boil. Simmer uncovered until reduced
and it thickens - about 15 to 25 minutes.
