At this point, given that the season is right around the corner, I'd get a little bit more aggressive if it was my gun.  If the end cap is already boogered, I'd get it out and order parts pronto.  Propane might help and won't be hot enough to damage the metal like a real torch.  Put that barrel in a vice and get a good hold on that plug and work it out.

No, not yet.  Took it over to Dad's tonight and we took the propane torch to it, trying to get it loosened, but no luck.  On Monday he's taking it to his machine shop.  I hope the thing isn't ruined.   :'(

Good thing I've got a backup, though.   ;)

For all those who were interested, I got the problem fixed.

Dad took it to his machine shop and put the sucker in a vice.

Thanks dad! :hello:

So did you ever figure out why it froze up? I have the exact same gun and would lik to avoid such problems.

Ah, sure thing.

I guess over the year that it sat in the safe, the oil just dripped down and pooled.  Then I fired it twice without cleaning it first, causing gunk to add to that oiled mess.  Add the two, and you've got a stuck endcap.

The guys on the board were saying to oil the O-ring real good, and there shouldn't be a problem.

Good luck.
