I found a 6 boxes of 9mm and one box of 40 S&W at WalMart Wenatchee. There were still a few boxes for under $11 as of 48 hours ago.

No issues finding ammo in Spokane... just can't find the bulk stuff.

I was up at skagit arms picking up a pistol for the wife. They had plenty of 9mm and most other calibers in stock. I picked up 270 rounds of .380 for the new gun, plus a few boxes of other calibers.

Ammo availability is getting crazy and frustrating!!

Stopped into kesselring to pick up the pistol and just turned around and left due to the long line and bad customer service.

Thanks,

H&f

Their service sucks. Unless your a local or in the "group" they hardly talk to you.

I found a few stores locally that has 9mm, and a lot of it.  Not sure what a good price is, but is seemed real reasonable.  I am having a problem finding 40 s&w for a reasonable price.

Buck Man- I agree, it will be the first and last time I go in there. I will give my business to skagit arms as they have great customer service and good pricing! I went in on Saturday and they had twice as many people in there store, but had more than 1 person helping people, I walked in and was helped within a minute or two. Oh yea and they made eye contact with me when I walked in the door as well...

I wish I had the time, and the personality to be able to reload!  It would save me allot of money...

Thanks,
H&F

DHS is indeed buying up .40S&W by the millions. If you know of them buying 9mm, I'm curious to know where you read it.

I haven't heard of DHS buying up 9 yet, but that their demands for .40 and 5.56 are putting a big demand on the materials market.  Lots of copper, brass and lead being redirected to making the components to fill the bulk contracts.  I heard that a little over 20% of all lead mined annually goes to manufacture of bullets.

Strictly speculative, but not unfounded given what weve heard of late.

the walmart in othello went from $16 to $20 for a box of 50 9 mm in a week.  they allow only 2 boxes to be bought so i bought 2 boxes of 100's.  hope the price goes back to $15 a box and $28 a box of hundreds.    mike w

??? You're saying that my reporting DHS buying .40S&W is speculation??

I guess it was poor estimation on my part. They aren't buying by the millions, they're practically buying by the half billion.

From what I see in most stores that sell ammo, it is the low end quantity over quality that is selling out. At Sportmans Warehouse they are out of all the bargain ammo, but one isle over the PDX1 are all stocked up, LOL

I wish I had the extra cash and time to buy it and resell....   :chuckle:

Burlington Wholesale had some FMJ Fiocchi 115 and 124 and some Remington MC but can't remember the weight, not a lot, about 15 boxes.  Fred Meyer also had some.  Both were about $15/box.
