say hello to the pudu its the smallest deer in the world it can get up to 26 pounds and the males horns are 2 to 3 inches long and do not fork out. this is a full size male. pretty crazy huh? they come from south America. wonder if they taste good......

man everyone is turning food into friend. just think you could cook ut over a open fire and its a meal for 3 maybe 4 people. i would eat one.

just like goats? i have done that and goats and deer look the same skinned out but smaller. i think the goat is related to the deer. not sure though....

Exactly. We so that with goats. It would be fun to try with a mini deer.

lol I'm just saying I would like to have one for a home defensive pet. Say a Intruder breaks into your house at night, No lights on and unfamiliar with his surroundings. All of a sudden he/she hears little feet running sounds coming at him and all of a sudden BAM something just rammed the hell out of his shin. In a weep of pain the intruder exits the house never to be seen/ attacked again.

Don't underestimate these things.  I shot a steenbuck that is the same size but he got up and ran off trailing his entrails behind him.  I followed the standard advice of shooting him in the center of mass to preserve the cape so it wasn't a heart/lung shot but still.  A 7mag round through the boiler room would stop most of us, but not him.

It wasn't a hard trail to follow and I finished him with the next shot.  He was huge.  His horns were at least a half inch longer than the one my friend shot.

There is a pudu at the Woodland Park Zoo if you want to contemplate shot placement.

There you go Scotty, sounds like a  fun past time for you. Didn't you say you were looking for a new hobby? Just be careful, those horns might tear your pant legs!
