Been a while since I have been up there so not lately

Sky your PM box is full!
I'm wandering if there is fish in that lake. My grandpa would tell me about a lake up on Styckney ridge that he fished in the 40's- 50's. Of coursse he's dead now.....another story  I should have paid more attention to.

Not sure. But you might want to check the fishing report. It might have some information that is useful  :dunno:

Turner,I was up there two years ago.I never made it to the lake. The road is so overgrown I couldn't figure out where to go.I fished the lake in the nineties, the lake was full of eastern brook and cutts. GPS coordinates would be a great tool in finding the lake again.Let me know if you make it up there. If you would like,I'll tag along to see if maybe we could find it.Maybe a trail making trip?

I used to fish that lake, 90s and early 2000s, caught cuts but no browns, but some were in the creek that flows off another shoulder of the Mt towards the South fork of the Sultan.  Last i tried to get up there it was pretty heavy going...and the road in was closed at the Basin road up into Olney pass...kind of the back way in...the roads up the ridge from the South are almost invisible.

If you go up where Olney Ck comes out and loop back down the ridge its easier going.

Stomper,What direction did you try to go up? I'm kinda thinking going in from the olney creek side would be the way to go like woodswalker said. Looking at google earth, that seems like the way to go. I wish they would update the google earth image. 2009 in april makes it tough to see around the lake with the snow. I'm thinking about going up on 4th july weekend. The snow should all be gone by then I would think. If you wanted to come along that would be great. How was the shoreline access when you guys were up there? Have you guys fished any of the other lakes on Stykney?     I've lived here all my life and never been up there.

Did there used to be a road right to the lake? Do you remember how long it took you to get up there? I'm gonna try to get up there on labor day weekend also. Maybe do some bear hunting. I'm sure there are some blueberry patches up there.
