I'll be happy to assist tomorrow if you'd like company.  Let me know and I can be free after work.

Gone. He was a good one. 16 years.

Sorry to hear about your cat H20.  A work partner of mine is home now having his German Shepard put down.  That part of pet ownership sucks.

Pets are funny things. I've always preached that one must do what is right for the animal, not what is right for the owner. Sure is a beyotch to follow through. The kids spent some extra time yesterday during the day knowing that I would have to make a decision when we went in. It was strange....I've taken the life of animals and been sad for the loss of life but thankfull for the ability to be the one to take it. Yesterday was much harder. He was the exception to the typical rule about cats. He was good with my kids when they were just babies and toddlers. They would climb on him, pull him across the floor by his hide, poke, prod, and geneally harass him. Never a nip or a hiss. As my son got a bit older he and the cat became pretty tight. The cats favorte place used to be with me....the last few years it was across my sons lap while they would watch cartoons. The vet was very good to us both. They asked how much time I needed and when asked to be quick they were. He was given a sedative while the IV was placed then brought back in to me. When the shot was placed in the IV he went amazingling fast...simply laid down. The second shot was given and his heart beat a few more times then just stopped.

Stang.....going out tomorrow. Either going to sit or walk a road that has sign....same place Turner and his son have almost closed the deal. I belive they are going out this evening so that will somewhat determine where I hunt. You are more than welcome to come along.

Great, now I feel like a D-Bag (different than a D-Rock, but not by much) for making fun of your cat visit.  Sorry to hear of the pet loss.

If its a "I walk alone" hunt that is fine.  If you want company let me know.  It is either walking roads or walking on a revolving track at the gym.  Let me know, I can do either.  Shoot me a text.

Sorry about the kitty D. It sounds like you did good by him. I'm sure there is some bear karma waiting for you in the woods now.

I feel for ya Dev, we had to put our cat down last year. He went exactly the same way as yours. It was tough. I know it's not macho to say you got emotional over a cat, but so what. Ours was exceptionally cool also. I still miss him.

Now go kill a bear!

Sadly, no. Smokey the cat is in need of a vet visit that can't wait. He may not be coming home. Gonna be a sad evening for me if that is the case. He is a good one. Has always been good with the kids, let them both climb all over him and pull on his tail, face, ears, whatever...never one hiss. I will be out Wednesday.

Keep in mind I can give 9 new cats in a few weeks just let me know! They are those barn certified type of cats.

Thats a big NOPE....We (I) am done with the house pet for a bit. No space for a dog....not ready for another cat. A nice snake sounds good. Not a lot of attachment to reptiles. The boy wants a ball python...has for about two years...maybe next year.

Ball pythons are kind of cool.  My daughter wanted one when she was younger, until she realized what they had to be fed.   :chuckle:

10-4. I've met the young man and sad to say he is a bit more accomplished than I! Cool young man and not half bad fella for a dad. I got a text once they had hands on...very cool. Stang and I will be out this evening. Got two spots in mind...one where I almost had the shot and the other is where Turners son, the same young man, almost had a shot.
