I'm pretty good at spotting bears from the vehicle.

Uggh, my head hurts from the bildo/barbour guide service page. If you need a extra pack, i have one near you. Good luck. The unit is heating up!

Agree.
Kill it already

About the only thing we came close to killing was a bunny. Yes it was in the road...no I didn't smoosh it. Stang and I made good time meeting up and getting the gear squared away. First headed up to my little corner and checked the cam. Got a lot of sign and some new pics but looked like the sow with the three little cubs has been using the area for bedding down at night. Nice to see the pics but nothing shootable in there right now. Granted, she or the cubs kicked the hell out of my flamingos again but we got them set back up and they are now happy once again. Headed around the corner and walked a road that looks very promising. There were some freshly broken over trees and lots of scat. Some serious piles up here. We saw some pretty serious game trails and think that I need to go back and slow hunt this area some more. I think the chances of finding a bear in the open are fairly decent. It was pretty steady drizzle and light rain which made walking quiet but also made it harder to pick out sounds in the brush. Good hunt, saw some deer, got out at least, did some more driving at the very end....all good. Stang, I've got your jacket drying out in the garage.

Keep at it. I got skunked also on Tuesday.

I hear you with the drizzle and picking up sounds. For me, it's a wash rain vs. sun for hearing.  With the sun, I always pick up a fly or two buzzing around my head. I'm not sure what's worse, fly buzzing or drip, drip, dip.

Oh...another thing that was pretty interesting. There were some smaller trees....an inch or two...that were recently snapped off. Not cut, snapped. I'm thinking a bear was marking or just being a silly bear. One other spot along the road it was a little chewed up and quite a bit of hair on the ground. Not sure if it could have been a bear scuffle or simply one rubbing on the gravel.
