Remember, NR moose has to be mailed.  I think the rest is available online.

This was going to be my first year bulding points in CO. I was going to buy for all the big species for several hundred bucks along with a commitment for thousands more in years to come.

Because of their descent into putrid liberalism, I have passed on almost all species. I am going to build points for mule deer only.

I dropped deer and going moose only now with them.  I've invested too much to throw up my hands completely.

Understandably a tough call, Bone. I suppose in this respect I'm fortunate to not be too heavily invested there. Maybe they'll come to their senses and stop going the way of Kalifornia and I'll start buying points in a few years.

Put in for my deer point last week.

Are you really putting in Bobcat or just trying to stir the pot as usual?

I'll be sitting this one out this year as well.

It's funny how someone takes a stand by only applying for deer. It's like saying that you won't support Buffalo Wild Wings for thier anti gun stance unless you wanted to eat wings. "Cause there just too delicious!"
Take your kids into the outdoors. They are our future. Support conservation by joining and participating in future through NRA, SCI, RMEF, Wild Sheep or any of the other great organizations.

Yes of course I am. Why wouldn't I? I looked up harvest numbers and you just can't beat Colorado. Elk harvest in 2011 was 43,000. Compare that to Washington's 4,800 elk harvested in 2011. Even Wyoming, which many consider to be one of the best states, only had 22,000 elk harvested, so about half of what was taken in Colorado. I'm definitely going to begin building Colorado points. I see myself spending a lot of time there after I retire. But until then, it's hard to justify the travel time, when I can hunt states that are much closer like Idaho and Oregon.

Points only for me too.  I too am way to invested into CO to throw them away now.  Hopefully by going points only the law will get repealed by the fall of '14 or beyond.

Compare that to Washington's 4,800 elk harvested in 2011.
General harvest.  Total was over 7,200.  But yes, their numbers are much higher.  But also consider the competition for them.  Colorado is 'known' to be one of the good elk states, and it is the closest elk state to the South; so you get lots of out of staters from there.  NM and CO get masses of hunters from Texas like Eastern WA gets wetsiders.

Luckily southerners don't know that you can walk and hunt at the same time :chuckle:
