Nice lil video

Please remove this thread completely. After viewing the video twice I have since been parked at the website for www.gopro.com. I have decided that this is the next toy to document crabbing, humpy fish'n, bottom fish'n, and what ever else. Being able to watch your video is leaving me to believe that above all else....I.....MUST.....HAVE......A........GOPRO.

Haha it will consume you! You won't stop thinking about it until you have one, and THEN, you won't stop until you have all the accessories that go with it. Smossy is obsessed with his, it goes everywhere with us.

I've already got myselft talked into it. Looks like a lot of fun to mess around with. I'm just figuring out where to mount it on the boat to have a good angle for the deck.....I'm thinking "humpy cam" 2013! Granted....just another pink to most but I'm gonna have a 7 year old on deck to slaughter them so....good times.

Smossy.....how high off a crab pot do you think it would need to be for a crab cam angle?

Hahahaha. I know I literally go everywhere and record everything. I even have the game warden speeding when I was going down to Moclips for razor clams for the last dig. :chuckle: He seen me recording him and just smiled. It was awesome.

How big are your pots? The fish eye set on 1080-30fps with the wide setting on should be good enough if you just set it in the upper corner facing the bait, Id probably just use lots and lots of zip-ties. Not really a good mount for that one. Ive seen some really awesome videos of Gopro Crabbing. It will show you the faults in your Pot to. Shows where they get in, get out, what you could change to increase your catch. Good stuff.

You could also on like the bottom left side on the outside where it wouldnt interfear with a door, ziptie down a small piece of board just big enough to put a 3M sticky gopro mount on, Then just put one or two screws through it to make sure the 3M tape doesnt fail. Then use like 3 or 4 of the length attachments like this
http://www.swimoutlet.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=33827&Click=263888

:to get a view a little further from the pot.

I like the view from the inside personally though otherwise your cages are going to be in the way alot, Get a dive housing if you want to record underwater in a crap pot, the picture is about 100x better unless you pick up a Hero 3, Those lenses on the housings are built alittle better then the 2 that I have.

They are fairly standard square pots. I was thinking that a section of pvc sticking out at a 45 with mounting plate would be secure and provide a full pot view.

Yeah that would work if you can secure it safely enough. Id even tie a piece of maybe like 100lb mono to the camera and secure it to your pot float, Just in-case it somehow falls off. Nothing like losing a few hundred $$ piece of equipment.
