I'm not sure how it's possible to "not apply correctly."   ???
True Dat, once you purchase the application you are automatically in for the draw!

You must submit the application as well.

Only if applying for the point option, or if you're applying with a partner.

Curious to know whether those that did not get drawn actually 'submitted' their preference.  There were two options...one for a point and another for the permit.  If one did not 'submit' the permit with a preference, they may have had an invalid or unprocessed application.

It's kind of like buying a raffle ticket and keeping both pieces, the one you keep to prove you put in and the other you actually put in the drawing....

sucks, but may be a reality that someone should look into.

There were fewer applications this year than in 2012.

For those who say you applied but did not draw the multi season deer: I'd like to see a printscreen of your results page. Perhaps you mistakenly applied for the "points option?" There's no other reason you should not have drawn.

Here's mine:

I drew the multi-elk again finally.  Hope I can actually use it this year.  Last time was in 09 and I drew a special permit on top of my multi so I ended up not "using" the multi-tag.  I just went to purchase my 2013 multi-tag and it doesnt show up as an option to buy online.  Are they available to purchase yet?

Check this out, in 2006 I drew both deer and elk, but didn't purchase either one. Actually the deer permit I didn't even have the option to buy until August I think it was. That was back when they gave a person so much time to buy it and if they didn't it was offered to the next person in line.

Thats not entirely true. If he bought the application and didnt go to the submit application  section then all he did was donate $6.50. I almost forgot to go submit my apps after I bough them.

How do I enter the drawing after I purchase the application?

Your application is automatically entered into the drawing unless you apply with a partner. These applications may be submitted online at https://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov/wdfw/special_permits.html.

No you don't. Only if you're only applying for the point option or if you're applying with a partner. And there's no reason to do either of those two things since the multi season deer is 100% draw odds every year.

The story I am getting on my guy not getting drawn is some sort of a mixup when he bought his license.  It sounds like maybe he got a second deer application or something instead of the multiseason deer application and didn't check his receipt.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

My hunting partner almost forgot to put in for the draw.  He bought his application and darn near forgot to put in for it....That would have sucked.
Now, this is really confusing me. I bought the application online while very tired and thought I was buying a Quality application, forgetting that they aren't even available til later. Anyway, since I wasn't familiar with the MS tag, I just left it alone for now, not even submitting it, hoping to come back later to figure it out. Well, today I got my "you got drawn" letter. So, at least for me, I got drawn by only buying the app online and never submitting it on the page your're supposed to do that on.
Also, my letter said that 6587 applicants got drawn. So, if that is actually way under the amount available, and I got one without even submitting it, then those who did submit and didn't get drawn had better be calling Olympia.

You submitted your application. You were selected along with everyone else that PROPERLY submitted. People saying they were not selected messed up somehow.
