I forget now who it was, but an awesome member on here was offering shad last year to people.  I was going to pick some up but never had the chance to get down his way.

That would be me.
Shad should start runnin in may.

I will keep everyone posted when we start catchin em.
It's not true that I am good for nothing---I can be used as a bad example!!

:chuckle:  I actually found my email and PMed the OP, I wasn't sure if you wanted it out there.  I'll try to connect with you this year on a few to hold me over until the pinks move in.  My old chickens that the wife won't eat might be enough bait though.   ;)

That's nice, if you're on the coast where you can keep them, thanks WDFW...   :bash:

No rockfish keeping in Puget Sound, this will be the third year of this idiocy.  They even wanted to take cabezon mostly away this year, but then backed off with just an 18" minimum and reduced catch to 1/day, how generous....  :fishin:  Pretty soon, this will be all we can keep.

I hate that we can't keep any rockfish. At least let us keep copper or quillback, and make us release the others! Let us keep 1 or something! And then give us a 120' deep rule to take away more fishing areas, and now the place I used to fish (some sunken boats) got removed  :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :cryriver: Ok, done ranting......

Yes....last time I checked I believe there were a limit of maybe 2? Check for yourself of courese. The bigger ones...over 12 inches make nice tasty filets....the small ones make good ling candy.

Just checked....an example is area nine under "other food fish"....no min size...daily limit two.

I'm not sure if I would classify them under bottom fish. Of all the dives (over a thousand) I can tell you they are not anywhere near as prevelant as the flatfish I classify under bottom fish. However....I'm not the expert...I would contact F&G...if you find out please post as I'd like to know as well.

Now I'm curious....got an email sent in to see if we can clarify....I'll post up when (if) I get a reply.

Just called the game department and they said greenling was a bottom fish.

On the coast, the rockfish (bass) limit has been 10, but I have not fished it for a while.  I looked, it is 12 "bottom fish" only ten of which can be rockfish, only 2 can be cabezon.

We (in the Sound) can keep 15 "bottomfish" only one will be a cabezon this year, no rockfish, I think includes greenling, sculpin, and flounder.

Page 10 in last year's regs say what are bottomfish.
