Hi Randy,
How are doing on the number of soldiers compared to the number of boats?

I have a Wounded Warrior that works for me in Florida, and was thinking about flying him up here for  this event.  He served our country with honor and I would love to do this for him.  But if you don't have enough boats yet I don't want to bring this up to him yet.

Let me know and if it can work, I will work on getting him tickets for a flight up to the great northwest!

Thanks!
Brian

Unreal !!  :salute:

Now this will make some soldier day, flying out to the Great Northwest for a fishing trip. I am guessing he will be getting the long distance award

Hi Randy,
I am very happy to report that I have worked out the details and will be flying in this great American Soldier from Florida for this event!  I hope to get him in early on the 9th and maybe give him some extra time on the water fishing and crabbing!!!

When I told him about this, it was an emotional moment and he could hardly talk.  Just enough to say thanks and that he would love to come up.  It made me feel blessed to be able to do this for him.

We are still trying to work out if his wife will be attending with him.  If she does not, I will still have room for 1 more.

Thanks again for putting this together!
Brian

Thought I would post this message I got about a walk through meeting for anyone that hasn't seen it yet.

All

We have decided to have our dry-run walk-through of the event on July 19th at 1500 hours. We will meet in the

grassy picnic area next to the boat launch.

Bring your best ideas as this will be our only time to get together prior to August 10th.

Please pass along if you think I left someone out!

Donna, sorry that this date conflicts with your vacation time....could you please pass this along to your maintenance person

and possibly have him attend as well? We will need to discuss the moorage and parking issues. Thanks much.

All the Best
Randy Shelton

Over 130 warriors (a few caregivers included in this number) and 63 boats! The overhead staff will be doing a walk-through on the 19th of July at 1500 hours. We are going to try and fine tune this event so that everyone has the best time possible.

I would like to thank two of our newest sponsors......Cabelas and HSIO Technologies for coming on board with us!

The latest from Eastern Washington is that 29 warriors will be making the trip to join us.......fantastic news!

Brian...what you are doing is one of the most generous things I have seen in years! Good on you and thanks from the bottom of my heart! Please keep us
posted on if his wife will be joining us....

See you on the water!

Randy,

I was planning to be up there on the 19th for the walk through and to get an idea of what everything looks like.

Right on right on, maybe a couple more nibblers in regards to sponsors.  Will finish conversations with them hopefully this week.

My hat is off to Randy, you are truly a big hearted guy and look forward to the event.  Your vision has been spot on and things are aligning as per our first conversation back a couple months ago..

Thanks so much to everyone for all the hard work, dedication and desire to serve!   It would be great if a couple of other sponsors stepped forward. Any little bit helps. We have some money for transportation and lodging for the Eastern Washington veterans.  You are doing a great job Mike. Keep up the good work! I will see you and Fish4Fun on July 19th.   :hello:

Does anyone know if Johns in Everett is a sponsor yet? If not I can talk to him.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!

Hey Ripper
Johns Sporting Goods is sponsoring a boat and I think giving us a few of his Saltwater Sports Journals to hand out. Would you be in a position to talk to John and see if you can get those books from him? I think that he signs them if you ask. That would be awesome!
A very special hats off to Robodad for submitting a successful grant application through the Walmart foundation that will allow us to help bring over our Eastern Washington Veterans!
Thank you Robodad and Walmart!

Well I'm hoping that this grant will help these guys have a much more seamless adventure and lessen the logistics burden with lodging and transportation, I know it's just a drop in the proverbial bucket but hey if just one warrior is distracted from all the pains and troubles they deal with on a daily basis then it's worth it all day long !!!

Thank you for providing me the opportunity to step up and give back if only in such a small way !!!

That would be great if you could do that for me h2ohunter! I am all the way down here in Gig Harbor and it makes for quite a journey just to pop up to Johns for a 5 minutes stop. I will however be coming up to the Marina on July 19th at 1500 hours for a walk through and dry run of the event. So If you can't make it to Johns, let me know and I will do a quick detour on the way to the launch area. Use my email if you need anything at all.....cabincreekadventures@yahoo.com
Just to let you know that Rob Endsley spoke with John Martinis about the books. I have not spoken to John about it so whatever he and Rob put together, John would be able to  speak to you about that......Maybe you could also see if you can sneak out with 6 or so of his new pink salmon shirts in size large for some of the women who are attending Salmon for Soldiers!
Things are getting very busy on this end with last minute details and planning. All is well and we are right on target! I doubt I will be posting much any more as my attention needs to be directed to other areas. I would like to very much thank each and every one of you for helping to make this event the success that I know it will be! Without you, nothing happens! You have no idea how much fun this will really be! See you on the water!
