new boat project.
« on: April 20, 2013, 07:24:29 AM »
I've decided to get gramps old boat back on the water this summer and maybe go catch a few humpies and crab.  Its an old girl that's been sitting since 2008.  Hopefully she'll work out for me.

Captain of the boat should never pull a pot.

Bow railing.
Looks like a fun project.  My cousin has one sitting in the woods very similar to that and I have been trying to get him to bring it back to life for the sake of Uncle Roger's memory.  I might have to fix it up for him next winter.

Cool lookin' boat Darren. Looks about 100 times better than Stang's boat that actually did get out last year. If you need any help let me know. I can run a buffer with the best of 'em and get that hull nice and shined up.

That could be done, my cousin is a painter, and we've camo'd a few aluminum sleds. Plus i have a sneak boat i still haven't used, but now i've got my truck to haul it.

  My thoughts were that it looked like you had good stock for power, those old Johnsons were workhorses.

That little 6 runs like brand new.  The 90 needs some grease, but it should be fine.  Controls need some grease, but it should work out.

I'm buying a new 30 hp with controls and console to put on my POS 14' aluminum Snoco... it should fly.

Maybe you can get crab in your sneak boat...   :bdid:  Maybe when you become a man you'll have a functional vessel.

A functional vessel that sits in the back yard acting only as a rainwater basin? Oh wait, that was your boat. My 12ft aluminum is completely functional and actually produces results. Brand new motor on that old turd? Better get to polishing that thing up.  :fishin: :lol4:
