Yep....for how nasty the water looked it sure was clear.

I'm hoping to have some test footage from my 'pedo prototype over the weekend.

Yeah. Love the dive house for the Hero 2. Its crystal clear. Specially if you have the PC to watch it in 1080 :chuckle: Unfortunately I can barely watch things in 720.

I see what you are saying....that could work as well depending on the fit and finish of where the pipe meets the ball. Mind out of the gutters folks.

Also....for anyone that has been wanting to make a purchase here is the link to where I bought my GoPro3 Black Edition.

http://www.speedwaremotorsports.com/tuning-and-track/motorsports-camera-mounts?manufacturer=74

The price shown on the website for this package is $399.00.......the same as everyone else. However, they advertise on CL as well as their own website for 359.00 plus tax. Total price out the door is about $398.00. This is the best deal you will find anywhere I've seen for GoPro cameras. They are a reputable shop and the transaction was smooth and easy.

Here is my working prototype. I've used stainless hardware are left off the zinc "keel" for now to see how she runs. The cup is 4 inch to 2 inch reduction. The family is heading to the pool for a swim this afternoon so I'll be taking along some rope and walking it along the side of the pool to see how it works. I think the buoyancy of the pipe will off set the camera weight and it will run in a line along behind the ball. If anything I may need a bigger ( heavier ) ball depending on drag. So far I'm in it about $45...mainly because of the zinc and the few stainless parts.

That looks good, will your attachment fittings keep it from spinning?

Well, the pool testing went better than I expected. Here is the short clip. I basically just tied a rope to a downrigger ball, clipped it on, then walked backward a mix of slow and fast. Brother in law swam along as the fish. It tracks everywhere the ball does and work very well.

Now try it at 100' where the light is minimal.  May be some dark footage.
