Trail Camera Security
« on: April 24, 2013, 08:19:57 AM »
Does anyone have any ideas on how to make some low budget security devices for game cameras. I have several game cameras and I cannot afford to purchase commercial security devices for them all. I lock up the my expensive cameras or cameras in areas where they may be stumbled across by a brush picker or someone exploring. Some of my lower end cameras or cameras deployed in areas I feel confident that no one will ever find I do not secure. Unfortunately, this past season I had a camera taken. This camera was on private land and in an area no one should have been. So now I need to find a way to lock up all my cameras on a limited budget.

Some cameras, like the Primos Truth Cams and some Moultries, are made to accept a cable lock such as the "Python":

I was thinking about getting a whole bunch of .223 ammo cans of ebay for cheap and making security boxes out of those. Cheap, durable, lockable.
