One thing that I will say Billdo is that when you start commenting on a thread you really get the thing moving in the wrong direction and fast!

I believe the person who started the thread is going to hunt both Idaho and Western Washington so good luck.

I actually like reading what people are saying about you, rather than reading your posts. Your posts are actually pretty repetative and predictable.

Is bildo really telling people where they should hunt based on pictures he sees posted on the Internet?

I used to love Idaho, but our spot was ruined once the wolves grabbed hold. That said, I haven't spent any time looking for a new area, I do know there is some great hunting to be had there though just much harder for a guy like me to find those spots opposed to a place close to home.

U Probably put in the time to scout... most people dont
I didn't set foot into the area I hunted in Idaho until the seasons was open that year. And I only spend a week a year in the area I elk hunt in wa. Elk are in Tue same areas year after year...

The wolves ate all the game in idaho especially the panhandle! dont come over-just kidding. The wolves have changed and ruined some spots. I had to abandon some old honey holes due to wolves but we had elk bugling almost every day and I shot a 5 by 6 archery and my partner shot a 5 point 2 days later. Did not hunt till the last week though because it was so hot and the elk were not talking much early but I think it was more heat related. Wolves due make the elk shut up when they are around but they fire back up when they move on. where I hunt the wolves will travel through the same areas but seem like they move a lot and a long ways. Its still good but nothing like it used to be. I would like to know how to post a picture on this sight-have android phone and I pad and cant figure it out. waisted an hour today trying. Maybe thats why you dont see more posts Idaho hunters not smart enough to figure it out!

John,

If you have time, hunt them both.  If you want a new adventure, go to Idaho and see somewhere new.  If money and time is tight, maximize your use of it and hunt in WA.

Contrary to internet gospel, there are still elk in Idaho.  And, they still bugle.  If you don't hear or see elk, move on and don't waste your time.  You would also have time to hunt both states because of the way the seasons lay.

Good luck!

lol if you dont hear them move on even though they are there... wtf are u talking about... ur method of hunting elk is very unique. Some elk come in quite so you only want to chase around the ones that are bugling??? Some of the biggest bulls arent bugling over there... have fun with a rag horn

All it seems like he wants to do is  :stirthepot:

I agree with the other posters who actually are putting thought into this. There are still plenty of elk in Idaho if you work for them. If you want an adventure and to see some new land, then go to Idaho and see some new things. I enjoy going to different areas and hunting different spots. It is not all about the kill or the size of the bull but about the experience as a whole.  :twocents:

 :chuckle:

Aron Snyder threatened to "beat you into the ground like a fence post".
Then you are on there questioning hunters like Justin and Les.  Get a life!!!

I gave you the benefit of the doubt but you have confirmed you are a derelict.  I wish I had the BAN button because you would be gone.  You derail a ton of topics when people are seeking advice.  Good thing is you have lost so much credibility no one listens to you anyways.

To the OP there are still many good places to elk hunt in Idaho.  I'm considering hunting both Washington and Idaho this year, myself.
