290 Unit Desert Bucks, post em up
« on: May 08, 2013, 06:25:01 PM »
Getting bored and looking through some old pics. I came across my 2005 Unit 290 Mule deer. Any body else want to post theirs, would be cool to see some others from that unit.

I had dead batteries in the camera and didn't even think to re set the date and time. I was just happy I had spares in my pack!! I was hunting in early November.

there wont be many..cause the hype this unit receives really is let down on quality I see shot every year. Most are avg bucks u could just go to MT or ID and shoot on a OTC hunt

You can say the same about every unit in this state. ;)

not really...this unit is by far the most popular in the number of applicants in this state..people drool over this mediocre unit for some reason.I remember a pic one year of 4 rifle bucks shot 1 year on the cover of a magazine I would of never shot in WA on a OTC tag. The hype this unit receives u would think there was 220" bucks everywhere or atleast nice ones..people seem to think they drew a Henries tag when they draw it. I also dont have high expectations of other units in the state, but Id much rather have a migratory mule deer tag than this one tho

You're drunk, everyone knows that unit has the biggest bucks.

ANY permit mule deer unit will yield a big mule deer no matter the unit...all about the number of hunters being limited..at some point a big buck or 2 will emerge over time and a lucky hunter will take it. Im not saying the Desert doesnt have any big bucks or none have been taken, but the talk and hype over it u would think 180" buck is the norm and its not and by far.The same results could be done with any area in the state if you only give out a few tags
