Not the lightest for carrying in the mountains. But it will work for bow hunting his year. What's the best for hip carry?
Thanks

I've got a Galco Phoenix AND a Galco belt to carry it on. The Belt is the key. Enough support to carry my 629. With the phoenix, you can carry it on your strong side, or cross draw. This works well if you've got a pack on with a support belt.

My favorite holster for my S&W 610 6.5" is a Bianchi Cyclone. You can use it strong side or cross draw. It's the best one I've found so far.
The Simply Rugged Holsters are also pretty nice. I had one for a 4" Redhawk 45 Colt. It carried the gun a little too high for my taste though.

I like my Simply Rugged cross draw. Blackhawk 5.5 barrel .45 Colt. I also picked up the six round holder for my belt. Oh yea, get a good belt too, you won't regret it.
