Leupold 1000 or vortex 1000 rangefinder
« on: May 16, 2013, 05:14:32 AM »
I can't for the life of me make up a decision on what range finder to get.   The vortex is waterproof and the 1000i is water resistant.  Also the vortex has a lifetime warrenty and the leupold has a 2year warrenty.   What is everyone's opinion?   Does Nyone have either of these rangefinders?

I was stuck in the same place a few weeks ago, for about a month I changed my mind on which one i wanted. I ended up getting the Leupold, it seemed to have more positive reviews for accuracy and it just felt better made to me when holding the two side by side. I am very happy with it so far, for all the options it has, it is really easy to use

Vortex all the way... Accurate as ever, you can hold the range button down and move it with a animal and it reads the distance as you go, completely water proof, and the life time warranty.... It's a given haha. No offense to leupold sense I use there spotting scopes but the vortex range finder is one of my better purchases for hunting!

Leupold all the way. Seen a few bad reviews for the accuracy on the vortex. I have 2 of the leupolds and both have been perfect.

I've been eyeballing the Vortex lately, and will probably be going that route.

I have both and the Vortex is the quickest, reliable in differing light conditions, easy to use of the two! And is true plus more to its yardage rating. The 3-4 Leupold I have owned never were. And lifetime warranty!

I am ready to buy one of these two but still don't know which one.
It seems that , per reviews, some work in the store but when you get your one home it does not seem to work as well. Is this a manufacturing consistency issue?

In all reality I do not need it over 600 yards, is there a different option that may be better for 600 yrds or less?
I like the waterproof design however that does not mean anything if I cannot get an accurate reading.

Main difference is when Leica says 1000 they mean it. When the others say 1000 they really mean 500-600.  :twocents:

Put my  :twocents: in here...

I have a Leupold 1000i TBR DNA, and love it... Best range finder I have owned.... If you are looking at staying inside of 1000, you cannot beat the leupold.
