Well, just got back from my spring turkey adventure.  It is a short summary.  Day 1 we scouted a new private property and got set up and had a bird gobbling in when a dog from nowhere showed up barking... game over.  Day 2 went to some public land and again had a bird close and gobbling really close but he wouldn't come in.  It may have been the decoy that freaked him out.  I debated long and hard rather to put up the decoy and probaby made the wrong call.  Day 3 my son (Boy Boy) went on a solo tactical mission and got close to a bird but couldn't confirm if it had a beard so he didn't pull the trigger.  Good for him.  For me it was my first year with a bow and had 3 great trips including the youth season.  Today got to see a moose, elk, owl, and a few gobblers at a distance.   :chuckle: Guess I'll have to keep my tag for a possible fall hunt and a chance to break in a broad head.

:sry: Sorry that you 2 couldn't give a few dirt naps GD ... but I bet you and your son still had some good quality time together out in God's church.

That sounds like a fun hunt, seeing all that game.  Next time you'll get the delicious meat.

Overall this was a strange spring season.  One trip I took I don't think I heard one gobble and was completely second guessing if the birds were still around.  Glad to see that a lot of others managed to fill some tags.  I've got a few months now to practice with the bow so that I can try a fall ambush.
