Long range shooters

Many out there on YouTube, and some here on HW even, will talk the talk, brag the brag, but in reality, can't perform or prove or backup what they claim. I know one guy who slams scopes other then Nightforce, but never will post a pic of a weapon owned by him with one mounted..? And we all know someone who makes those long shots on game, but never a proven witness? You can accomplish great things from a computer keyboard and some fancy editing!! Lol! But most can see thru it!

Indeed true. I tell you what, I have made 3 shots right at or just over 500 yards with a rifle on game animals. It's not easy. I am not a great rifle shot by any means and it takes a lot to get great. You have people that buy turrets mount them on there gun shoot it in at 100 and go hunt and take shots at 1k. Sad to see really. I know a few great shots that put me to shame. I feel good keeping them on a pie plate at 500. Doesn't sound like much but to me it is LOL. I don't get a chance to pack a rifle to much but when I do I love clicking turrets

To be fare to the thread, I'd never even try to take an animal past 400 yards(Maybe a yote).  I practice out to 500 all year long and sometimes out to 800, but that is just milk jugs.  And then clays out to 300 with the .17 hmr

That is one sexy handi!!! You would laugh at ours. We have one in a 243 and it has killed 5 first deer and taken a few beatings topped with a old redfield.

I have a .223 also that if I can find that .243 barrel, it will become a youth loaner rifle.  They are fun for sure.

Indeed, that hammer extender sure makes it sweet. I remember fighting under that old redfield to get the hammer back on my first deer LOL.

I am bumping this thread. Some guys on here may find some of this guys information useful. I was going to start a new thread mentioning him. Regarding suspicions from previous (although 2 years old) comments. One poster said his cleaning method with a brush is frowned upon in the shooting community. That seems to be true in the civilian community. In the military, most of us learn to clean with a brush. This may be where this came from.
Anyway, I don't know if this guy is "for real" or not, but he has posted 80 some tutorial videos for free (and continues to post) and there is some good information to be had, although some may find it a little dry. He's not claiming to be anything other than someone who enjoys long range shooting. I have learned a thing or two so far. My
