Best bow sight

In my opinion you sound more arrogant then confident.  I picked up the bow 22 years ago, it was a bear recurve 55 lb. no sights, I then want to a longbow 70 lb. again no sights. I now shoot a Darton compond bow with 3 sight pin's O'my god this is wrong "in your very humble opinion". Sounds like you're a good shot. Well I'm a good shot too with my 3 pins. But, you don't know jack s#!t about my shooting ability, I'm just doing it all wrong. Thanks for showing me the way.

 

Your right I dont know about you shooting ability. and I dont agree with your chioce of pins, I never said its "wrong" doesnt make any sense to me and I see no reason for it, but wrong is not the word id use, if youd rather not aim dead on with a pin and gap shoot instead ( again makes no sense to me or any other person I have talked too) then good for you thats your call.. also im glad you picked up a bow 22 years ago.. thats 10 more then me and im 24 and your 44... I got started a little earlier... and just because you have been doing something for a very long time does not mean your doing it right..... ive seen plenty of people punch the crap out of a trigger release but they do it all the time and they can shoot fairly well.... doesnt make their shot execution right...... no matter how well they shoot or how long.....

I would also agree it takes a lot of skill with primitive gear and I respect the guys that do it.... its not for me but neither is snagging fish..... Those guys IMO are the real bowhunters..... but even with out new high tech gear its not easy to kill and it still takes a lot of skill and some luck

I'm 48 not 44, soon to be 49. I like to introduce new people to the sport of bow hunting too. I never said I'm right and your wrong, but in your post you say, "( again makes no sense to me or any other person I have talked too)" I guess the guys that have no problem with it here have no clue about bow hunting and shooting a bow. You should stop and read what you have said," I've seen plenty of people punch the crap out of a trigger release but they do it all the time and they can shoot fairly well.... doesn't make their shot execution right...... no matter how well they shoot or how long....." I do know that what works for one person doesn't work for others. And I do know, if you hit the bull every shot with some other way other then the way you shoot, those people have some sort of the right shot execution. I work with a kid who has deer in an area where he felt he shouldn't shoot a gun and wanted to get a bow. I let him use my 3 pin bow. I showed him how to shoot it. He's a strong kid, he shot for two days and on the 3rd day heart shot a spike buck, the buck went 20 yds and fell dead. But, he's screwed for life because I showed him the wrong way to punch paper.

You know what, I think it's probably time to give old Hoytstaff a break.  Here we have a post asking for info about sights and we, myself included, turned it into a pissin match about personal style.  I don't think we want this site to go down the same path as MM.  Hoyt, ya shoot at any of the southend shoots? Maybe we'll see ya around one and we can compare notes in person.

I used to use a Tru-Glo 5 pin, but am trying out the King Cobra Single pin slider this year.  Not sure how I like it yet.  Great for a set yardage, but worry about having to adjust in the heat of the moment.

DeKuma, I shot a Savage Archery Quick Click single adjustable pin for a few years; it worked well for 3D and even in the field it was adequate with the exception of when you had animals around and could not afford  movements needed to adjust it.  I ended up missing some shot opportunities that I would have been able to take using fixed pins.  I now use a Spot Hogg SDP. 

I had zero issues with adjustments and maintenance with it.  Good luck.

Im looking for a 7 pin sight   that has a actual tritium pin for the 20 yards

I was about to but the TRUGLO extreme 5 pin (they dont make a 7) when I saw on here that Spot Hogg makes a 7 pin with the tritium?

Anyone wanna comment on the tritium pin quality in very low light? last 5 minutes light?

any other 7 pin with tritium pin first??

and for the ethics police...just know I want it to shoot way way after legal shooting hours and Im gonna shoot at elk 90 yards out.....

On pg 67 of the regs it states that no scopes or visual aids are to be used unless you have a special permit for visual impairment.

Wasn't aware that Spot Hogg offered a tritium pin but if they do your local archery shop should be able to order the custom sight right from Spot hogg.

The ingnite 7 pin is by far the brightest pin set up out there.. period..... also it is illegal and you would not want to use a scope as it would and does fog up, especially on those rainy days here in wa....... fogged scope means no go......

I use the SDP with the hogg wrap and couldnt be any happier. This site is durable accurate and worth the price if your looking for a reliable long lasting site.
