Blue Tongue
« on: October 14, 2008, 05:43:22 PM »
Man this weekend sucked...

On my familys ranch you usually see about 50/50 whitetails/muleys. I saw 2 whitetails all weekend(not counting the dead ones)

Normally see a couple hundred head throughout the weekend...think i saw 50 maybe!! And half was from a heard of muleys(23) with no legal bucks in the bunch.

Was thinking about heading back for the rest of the week/end but not sure if its worth it.

Anyone else run into Blue Tongue problems?

The whitey population around spokane is healthy. I passed on 21 legal bucks in the first 2 days alone.

the blue tongue problem area is currently around dayton, phool...hasn't gotten into the foothills of the blues yet as i have heard yet.

there's a few other threads on here re: this topic and the specific areas direct from the bio's in the area. i can't remember specifics.

I have a friend that lives out in Hunters along the river that said that blue tongue is back and bad around his farm  :bash:
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

It should be ending very soon, the parasite that causes it is killed after the first hard frost, and we've had plenty of those.
