If you aren't trying to get them to bite, then you must be trying to snag them without them biting. It doesn't matter it is in the head or the ass, you are a snagger.Guess Im a snagger then. Might want to stay away from me. Some people floss because they don't know better. Others floss when they know better but aren't good enough fisherman to make the fish bite. Which do you want to be?Im probably the first one being as I don't have friends or family to teach me. I've learned all from first hand knowledge and never found HW until Jan of this year. I've fished my whole life in lakes and ponds, but never chased salmon until 2011 when I found my love for the outdoors. Definitely learned alot though since then.

Anyone who flosses is a snagger. It is that simple. If you aren't trying to get them to bite, then you must be trying to snag them without them biting. It doesn't matter it is in the head or the ass, you are a snagger.

Definitely learned alot though since then. It's a method for sure, but you will get hooked if you try floating some jigs, or bait, herring, shrimp. Spoons, spinners are fun, definitely lots of fun to be had working harder for the fish

Let me point out that flossing is not illegal as long as the fish is hooked in the head or in the mouth they can not prove you were snagging ...I learned all this from watching it all go down last year ....according to them , the whole river was guilty
I am just pointing it out ...it all comes down to ethics ..its like me telling you to not shoot a turkey while he is in roost ...Even though it seriously ticks me off when someone does that but it is not against the law ......Like I said I am just pointing it out !
Call me crazy but so far today I'm following BH45's posts and just keep nodding. Flossing, unless specified by leader lenght restrictions, is not illegal nor is it "snagging".Do it or don't...up to you.
My defintion of "snagging" when it comes to salmon is the direct intention to foul hook a fish outside the mouth. When flossing the lure does catch (snag if you wish) in the corner of the mouth. I see them as two seperate types of fishing. One is legal, one is not. If you do not agree that is cool with me.....as long as the fishing is done legally then I can't tell someone how to go about it.
