I prefer a different method for every specie of fish in the season I'm fishing for them. Spring cures are totally different fall cures.
The difference is they're all cured differently for the fish I'm targeting.
Basically use different brines, dyes, methods, etc. For example, I really like a pale orange egg look for fall steelies. Prefer fire red shrimp for sockeye. Pale pink corn for kokanee. Electric blue herring for summer run chinook. Etc. One thing I will say, is don't overlook jello.
