RF ZONES

Question- So in your RF zones when use a muzzle loader you can only use iron sights and no scope but if you used a shotgun slug gun you can use a scope? Is this a correct understanding of the game laws? And most of the RF hunters use the muzzle loaders in these areas.

I could be wrong but I think guys use a slug gun in RF areas during modern firearm seasons. During our ML seasons a gun must be considered primitive, which includes iron sites as well as an exposed breach (no 209 primers.) I don't think a shotgun qualifies as a primitive weapon. I haven't encountered many slug gun hunters on this site or in the field.

RF? Washington does not have RF zones. Assuming that you mean "rifle free", the correct term is "Firearm Restricted". I suggest reading page 81 of the 2013 Big Game regulations.
Scopes are always legal on shotguns in Washington.

Living in one, here are the rules.

ML season - no scopes, exposed nipple, single "loaded" barrel if a double

Modern Firearm season - ML may have scopes, not sure if nipple needs to be exposed (would be stupid if it had to be ), may use double barrel with both barrels loaded; revolver style handguns, scopes OK, barrel and caliber restrictions the same as elsewhere; archery gear, same rules as archery season; shotguns, scopes OK, rifled slug, sabot, or buckshot are legal; and crossbows are OK to use following posted requirements.

I think this about covers it, but as mentioned above, read and reread the regs.  Hope this helps.

I have never heard of an RF zone. Must be a term from some other state.
