Who needs a Hydraulic Pot puller when you have guys like Seth?  :chuckle:

and by the way, 15 legal crab out of 2 pots that soaked for 2 hours isn't going to happen every time.   :sry:

Nice full pots.  Had a few like that, but not on opening day.  For us, it was a lot of undersized crabs.  Many were almost legal.  I think the commercial guys crabbed our bay right before we got there.  We did end up getting 3 nice big ones and they were full of meat.  Can't wait until this weekend to get back out there!

The "Warden" and I got our limits yesterday and had two really big ones that made the 7 inchers look small! These guys were 9" across and the biggest of the two was 3lbs 12oz! :yike: Going back today and see if there's any more like that.

What do you use for bait?  I think I'm losing keepers by not pulling directly over the pot due to the tide pulling the extra rope out at an angle.  I need to get the boat directly above and then pull fast.

Sweeeet ...I need to get out and get me some .. The other night I was watching TV and I came across a show where a guy made a crab trap for his fishing pole ..It was crazy ....it was about 12 inches square and sides opened up once it hit the bottom ..he then held the pole like he was trout fishing and when the rod tip started to shake he pulled it up ...quickly ...he was nailing them ... I will try to find this gizmo if I can ...
