Cant wait heading back up tomorrow. Thought I would share. Making the guys a killer bear call. This is the beginning. 3 inch African blackwood best for sound. I will take pictures as the calls are born. Going to try to get a couple cow calls done. Will be cow calling also like Billythekid works for him. Rick

We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

Hey Rick, I'm pretty new on here but plan on spending more time when I can. Great looking calls. Do you ever work with figured maple? I've got a whole bunch of it if you want a few blocks. Good stuff, I've been carting it around for about 20 years now. Came off the peninsula (I grew up by Port Angeles). It's from an outfit that got the timber from the Forks area and then milled it, kiln dried it and sold it for violin and guitar blanks to fender, Stradivarius (sp?), all the big names. I used to carve fish out of it and sell them at galleries around the NW but haven't done it for years. Anyway, PM me if you might be interested, I don't know how it is for sound but I'm familiar with some of the exotics you use and know how rock hard this maple is. Good luck with bear, your checking out some of my old stomping grounds.
