I always carry mine. Being proficient with your bow has NOTHING to do with it. It's about protection.
Totally disagree with you Hugh. If I suddenly have to deal with a tweeker in the woods drawing my pistol and pulling the trigger is much faster than bringing up your bow, knocking an arrow, draw, aim and release. And that is only if you happen to have your release already strapped on. Not to mention a gun is a bigger deterrent to a POS than a bow.

I think most folks err on your side of thinking and not mine anyhow.
