Sitka Mountain Pants fit issue/help
« on: July 17, 2013, 07:03:43 PM »
I'm looking for some feedback on the Sitka Mountain Pants. For those who have field tested these pants what is your feedback.

First these are suppose to be an athletic cut but what I found is the legs to be very baggy. The fit is fine around the waist seems to be true.  For what the pants costs I was hoping for a better fit. How are the Ascent pants for fit?

Mabye my legs are to small compared to my waste size..LOL.

I called Sitka and they told me that the legs are made with more room in them since most hunters who buy them are althletes, body builders, etc.. I told the guy I feel like I'm wearing sweat pants 3 sizes to big!  The problem is I cant go down in waiste size as they fit perfect and if I went smalller the pant would be to tight.

Also, I noticed that the knee pads sit low so I feel them when I walk, however if i kneel down than the knee pads fit perfect on my knees.

My lovely wife bought me a lot of Sitka gear and I love everything except but the fit of the pants do not meet my expectations of what I thought should be.

If the knee pads are in the right spot when you kneel down, then they are in the correct location.  If the knee pads were over your knee cap when you were standing, it would rise up when you kneel and do you no good.

I have the exact opposite problem you do relative to the waist/legs.  If I buy the correct waist size it looks like I'm wearing Open County yoga pants.  Are they baggier than a BDU type fit?  I like the legs to be loose, then you'll have room to layer underneath when it's colder.

I doubt the Ascent pants will fit you any differently than the Mountain pants do.

Ooen country yoga pants.. That made me laugh. I love yoga pants but not on guys...lol

I see you're point on the placement of knee pads.

I thought they would fit more like an armour workout pant/bdu.

Plus i also assumed with the base layers offered that there wouldn't be the need for so much extra room. I'm not sure these pants fit the athletic cut.

I have a pair of mountain pants. I bought the same waist size as I wear in Levi's and they fit me just like I was hoping. Not baggy at all. I'm not a little guy, but I'm far from fat. I'm 6'4" and about 220. I bought the long length. Totally happy with the fit of mine. I didn't like the baggy fit of the 90% pants.

I come long way but still need to drop weight but that being said just doesn't make sence how baggy the mountain pants are.oh well I'm headed to kalispell on Friday for vacation. I'm sure i can try on some different sizes.
