North facing slopes?

I drew a cow tag for the mudflow area in early Sept. Is there a North facing slope in there?

It depends which side of Washington you're in.  All slopes on the West side face Left! especially as you get closer to Seattle.

Now that the north thing is figured out can we define what constitutes a slope?

Actually, I really want to get an answer to Jbeaumont's question:

Hypothetical question, lets say you live in Hood River, OR and you are going to head South to Government Camp on Mt Hood. Would you tell someone that you are heading "down" to Government Camp since you are going South or would you tell them that you are headed "up" to Government Camp since you are traveling uphill? Which takes precedence when telling someone where you are headed, direction or elevation? 

I have had arguments with family members over this discussion. 

Personally, I think it depends on how far south you would be travelling.  Hood River to Government Camp is not that far south, but it is quite an elevation climb.............so I vote for up.

Now if you were traveling from Olympia to Government camp, it is still a large elevation climb, but it is much farther in the southerly direction, so I'd say DOWN in that case.

East is sideways. North is straight up. Duh look at a map key.

where I hunt both ways are uphill !. look for heavy folage and water you will find elk , deer and elk both like to feed on south slopes and bed on north slopes in the early season where it's cooler during mid day they also wont go to far if they can help it there fore the north slope often hold both bedding and feeding elk. I really like benches that are fairly flat about 3/4 of the way up a north slope. late season I'd focus on south slopes .
