find someone that knows wtf they are doing (90% of the fish are cought by 10% of the fisherman. take someone who is part of the 10% ) and take them.
as an avid salmon fisherman i can tell you nothing matters, EXCEPT everything!
what matters?
gear
leader length
scent?? sometimes
bait
hooks
direction
speed
SPEED
SPEEDdid i mention leader length? pay attention

every spoon, gear, hoochie, or flasher calls for a different length and people get lazy and dont catch.
using downriggers?
depth
certain gear at certain depths
where you fish
reading the water, is there a bada$$ rip tide to run?
tides!
and last what gear your using at what depth depending on todays wind at the speed your going divided by your e=mc2

thats for starters, yes theres a learning curve, take an old salty dog with you and cut that curve down to 1 year instead of a few painful ones.
anyone disagree? anyone that says yes, thats who you DONT want to take
