Welcome!

You looking to learn about colony and floaters for muskrat? There are some really good threads on here from just this past spring. Look for one title "need help with colonies". I started it last fall as I was struggling somewhat. There are a lot of very helpfull and experienced trappers on here.

If you have a specific question in mind just let us know.

Good luck

Mercer, the July FFG has a picture of a Raymond forester from tule lake, Ca. With a catch of 1400.+ rats. He uses some type of cage trap, unfortunately there isn't a story to explain his traps. I may write a letter to FFG and see if they will forward me asking about his trap. Maybe you know about him or someone you know does, sure would be nice to learn how he does it. Id love to see one of his traps.

Welcome!  We see lots of muskrats when duck hunting typically.  We usually give them a dose of shot.

Check out the web site nongriptraps.com. Mike matney a washington state trappers designed a floating repeat muskrat trap. It's pretty cool, he has some nice video on the web site.

Welcome! :hello: Not much of a trapper. Have got some moles and mice over the years. Them moles take some true skill compared to the beaver, rats, and foxes. :chuckle:

:dunno: :dunno: Why would you illegally kill muskrats and then post about it?

Also, welcome Mercer!
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.
