Didn't read this entire thread so sorry if I repeat someone.  I love the way Idaho let's us use our quads, we don't but can hunt off them. We use them for getting us to our walking areas and getting our meat out. You can legally drive them down logging roads, unlike wa who wants you to buy tabs every year but doesn't let you utilize them the way they should.
“In common with”..... not so much!!

FYI : I hope you guys realize that your ATV/UTVs have to be licensed and insured in Idaho, just like a regular vehicle.

Mine are registered in both our commie state and Idaho.

Funny thing is, I never see anybody being NOT where there supposed to be until the hunters from the westside come over here. I always warn them not to ride them unless they know where it's legal. Their answer, I can ride them from my place. I bet not.

:IBCOOL:got my polaris ranger street legal today!
Had it inspected by Cliff's and then went straight to DMV.  It was the first UTV done by Cliff's and the first one done by silverdale DMV but went fairly smooth at both places.
I have read the entire bill (1632) and know the requirements, but no where on the inspection form or application does it specify where you can/can't ride on the pavement.  I may push the issue and start riding around Kitsap roads....

Also all the forest service roads say highway legal vehicles only, well,  my ranger is now street legal  8)

Good for you. Just be careful about forest circus roads. That's misleading. I suggest you call where ever you plan on riding on the forest circus roads. Some Ranger Districts allow it and some don't. Nice ticket if you get caught.

The biggest factor is if the county has more than 15,000 people you can't ride on the roads unless that county specifically allows it.  So this new law really applies to lower population counties.

Only a few counties in the state under 15,000 people,  not sure how many counties will allow it other than the few that have to by law.

I'm getting mine inspected on Saturday for the plates. . But I do have full coverage on both of mine and are plated in Idaho too..... Our ORV stickers are honored in Idaho to license them.

Have a temporary plate good for a year.  The steel plates should be available in march.  Auto type insurance is specifically not required for atv/utv's.
