Video of trail cameras spooking bucks
« on: August 01, 2013, 03:53:07 AM »
Someone posted an outstanding video that showed buck after buck being spooked by cameras at the eye level.  The video showed how much better it was to put your cameras up higher.  Can someone post a link to that video, I can't seem to find it.  Thanks for any help!!

I didnt see the video on here.  I have yet to see bucks quit coming in with IR cams at night at my sites...all my cams are 3-5 ft off the ground.

It has to be human or unfamiliar aroma. There's only one way to explain the reaction to the dead cameras.

I posted a video from one of my cameras a couple months ago, where a buck stopped, stared at the camera for several seconds, then backed up a little, and went off the main trail and around the camera.

I have a white flash camera at the same location, and it's been there for several months. The flash from that camera doesn't bother the deer or elk. But the IR cam in video mode sure did.

It was right at eye level with the buck and facing right up the trail, so he was walking direcly at it. I could see where placing cameras higher would be very beneficial for that reason. Not only that, they would be much less likely to get stolen.

I do 3 to 5 shot bursts, had bucks right at my camera, nose it and stay.
