Question...  if the fish are down deep during the heat of the day, say 120-150 feet, and a guy not unlike myself does not have downriggers, how do you get to them?

I don't have any people, so it's okay if you just tell me instead.

Jig 'em up. Take your trout rod or something with braid and plenty of line.....drop it way the heck down and just work it back up. You can have a lot of fun with it. Just make sure to switch out your treble with a super sharp thin shanked hook...I like Owner....also...lighten that drag up...I'm losing more fish than I should pulling hooks.

I want people, were are we meeting at 5?  :dunno:
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

If Fishstiq can't make it, you're welcome to come out with and I'll send you a PM.  Won't even ask you to wear the beesuit, but won't be mad if you did.  I'm getting live reports from the water right now that the pinks are hitting in 60 feet off the shipwreck.

i think longer rods are helping also.  i know my noodle rods 13' did the trick saturday.  we lost more fish on the shorter rods (9ft gloomis) than the longer ones with more give.
It is what you meant it to be...

I think I can do 5.

Jigging up from 150 feet eh?  Never tried it, sounds fun!  Sonovagun, I never had people before.  I guess that means I should bring a bigger cooler!

That's right.  I'm in a white 19' Northriver.  Tall blond guy, beard, "Team Jacob" wife beater.  I don't ask for fuel or beer, but I love bananas.  In fact, anytime you see me on the water, throw a few in my boat as you troll by.  Love 'em.

Well, that makes me happy that none of you know what my boat looks like!
