« on: August 06, 2013, 09:14:52 AM »
I have a friend with sone land in 666 he told me he could get an elk nuisance tag.  I was wondering hiw tgat worked.  How he gets the tag and does it matter the season orvweapon used to ffill the tag?

it is probably a deprovationg tag.  The wdfw give these out to landowners who have elk problems and cause damage.  Depending on how many elk hang out on his property  will depend on how many depo tags he will be given.  The landowner can give the tags to whom he wants or keep for themselves if i remember correctly.  They are only for cows and the tag is usually good from august through sometime in march and doesnt' matter the weapon type.  These are just my past experiences

if it is like the deer depredation program they are actually a permit I believe. must use a valid tag.
I looked into the deer a couple years ago,

You can start by reading this and then clicking on the WAC link for a summary.  They just don't give them out.  There are state laws and commission rules depending on the situation.
