American Ruger 30-06 Limbsaver
« on: August 15, 2013, 09:17:30 PM »
I can't find anything online, does anyone know what limbsaver I should use? I just want to reduce the recoil a little.

Also, anyone used their Sharpshooter XRing?

You will have too get the grind to fit.  If you call Limbsaver they will help you with what you need . sales department at 1.877.257.2761 or email George Clark at gclark@limbsaver.com.

They come in small medium and large.

Hmm. I don't have a belt-sander nor access to one anymore.

What happens if I don't grind the recoil pad?

It'll overhang the end of the stock and hang up on anything and everything.  You're going to want to grind it, IMHO.

You don't need a belt sander. It is nicer, but you can block sand by hand.

:yeah:

It's a pain to do it by hand, but I've done several rifles that way.  Be sure to put masking tape on the stock or else you'll end up doing a refinish job on it when you're done.
