390" 2008 Rifle Bull
« on: October 24, 2008, 07:33:08 AM »
My friend and neighbor shot this bull Tuesday in the Blues.  It is a 8x9.  The picture I posted does not show all of the points clearly. I scored it at 390 and change.  I really did not think it was going to score that high!  Had to recheck everything twice, but came up with the same number.  He was pumped to have got this bull and thought it was around 350.  He was even happier when I told him what it really scored.  It was nice to have someone get one of our coveted tags and to go into the hunt with the realistic expectation that he wanted to get a bull at least 330.  Sometimes when you go in with lower expectations you get more than you could have ever hoped for.

I did not have anything to do with this bulls demise, just lucky enough to know the hunter!!

Here's a 390" bull... 24" G3's and 22" G4's and 58" main beams on each side...  Not saying that bulls not nice by any means because it is, but it just doens't look 390 to me.. 340 - 350 maybe..

340-350? Dude, its bigger than that. I was thinking 370's  :dunno: Dandy bull . Pictures are tough on horns sometime. Looks like there are a couple extras on the 6 lookin side if you look in the shadow maybee like there is a fork at the end of the main beam and an extra off of the g-5 and g-4 that will add up too.

Ye of little faith....as they say, there are more than one way to skin a cat.  In other words you do not need 24 in ch this and 58 inch that when you have 17 points, i.e. 8x9.  They can be smaller cuz there are more of them.  I have found over 1000 elk antlers and am able to read a tape measure......I too was underwhelmed.  However, 174 inches left, 175 each right and 40 1/2 spread adds up to pretty close to 390 in this part of Washington.  I will put the score sheet up when I get it for those you whom doubt.

WOW a lot of nice bullls this year!!!!!!

By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

:chuckle:  I am not doubting that you don't know how to score, I was just saying from the look of the picture because not all points are visible it's tough to judge it.  Good work!

Damn nice bull for sure, whatever it scores.  Congrats to the lucky hunter.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
You are never to old to learn something stupid.
