Here are some posts that might help (Both started by me)

I am going to checkout Scatter Creek (although not finding the hunting regs for the area, but believe it is good to go, will verify before going. Anyone who knows for sure let me know) this week and will report back. Monroe looks like a good area also and has the right landscape IMHO for it.

Have been out of the loop hunting for a few years also. Turkey season this year was a first in a while, and well no Turkeys were harmed :)

Looking for a Rabbit win myself before Deer season starts for us Rifle users. Rabbits may see a "Small Victory", but big for me.

I didn't check the links already posted.
But here is my experience.
Rabbits......AND Grouse are going to be along roads with alder/non-pine type plant cover like berry bushes, etc. Along the edges of grassy meadow type habitat. Open grassy areas with lots of cover for rabbits.......I always have GREAT luck walking old old alder tree grown over roads for both rabbit AND grouse.
Good Luck
