I have never tried alfalfa this early but I would think the mountain deer would hit it better then the lower ag fieild deer.

I have had deer pound alfalfa in July and 3 mi away have deer barely touch it

I'm in complete agreement whitetails have been known to have large eyeguards. Excellent point.   :dunno:
