Elk season not looking good
« on: October 28, 2008, 08:39:10 PM »
So My wife is pregnat and past due. She now is on bed rest I have people coming from the eastside to try and hunt the west with me. Wth only a couple of days left it's not looking good. Anyone know of a place to hunt with cell service. Ive spent time scouting and finding some real good sign and elk seen but no cell service in the area. If I decide to go hunting I would like for my wife to be able to get ahold of me if needed.

Your first mistake was your choice to have a baby during hunting season!   :bash:   I think you will be better off staying home and missing elk hunting this year. You don't want to have her trying to call you from the hospital while you're busy packing out an elk.

I would stay home, but...  If you have verizon cell service or buy a prepaid verizon cell phone then you can have service all along the crest of the cascades both east and west.

The sacrifice will be worth it.  You wouldn't be able to live with yourself if something happened.  Not only that.  She will appreciate you being there more than you know.

Now if you can't help it or she seems to be feeling better.  I know verizon gets service in the parts of the mossyrock, the winston, the packwood, ryderwood, and I'm sure many others.  Just find a good spot with service and sit tight.

Good luck with both situations.

Same here.  Also the Peterman's Ridge (Mossyrock) has cell service most of the time.  If I were you dude, I would welcome the child/new hunter into this world instead of hunting.  Just my 2 cents

Progressives are coming for your guns.
What are you going to do?

Well me, I do not have any guns, gave away or sold them 15 years ago.

I feel your pain. :bash: They are going to induce my wife on 5 Nov. So it looks like only opening weekend for me.

I would say it's time to switch to Archery elk hunting  :IBCOOL: that will get you out of the B-day problems   ;)

If you ever want this little one to take to hunting, they should know they were more important to you then hunting  ;)

Good Luck,

Fulla
