I'm taking my year old Springer and my dad quail hunting. I prefer quail over pheasant for eating and it'll just be good to be across the mountains again.

I'm leaving for elk camp on Wednesday out by E-burg. Gonna have my vest and O/U to chase birds here and there between elk hunting. I've got several coveys located through elk scouting. Gonna be a fun 9 days!

I'll be heading over to the east side with my two GSP's as well!  Probably toward the Yakima region.

Nice looking chukars! I might have to give that a try this year. I'm thinking the Brewster area or the Rhonde

I'll be out with the Springer in the Palouse for quail and Huns this coming weekend.

BTW, duck season doesn't open until Oct. 12th and E. WA pheasant doesn't open until Oct. 19th.

Enjoy and good luck.

I will be out chasing chukar, with hopefully some quail bycautch.
You will never shoot a camp bull by spending all your time hunting in the woods.

Thinking of trying up around the Brewster area.  Anyone else going or have experience in that area?

Me and my dog were pretty rusty!  15 shots, only one dumped bird.  Dog was out of commission after three hours.  All four pads had dime to quarter size chunks out of them.  He couldn't walk yesterday.

Fortunately no snakes!

My son saw one snake while I was up side hilling above him. I didn't know until five minutes later. He said it was only 10 inches long and about as big as round as a quarter. I asked him why he didn't smash it with a rock and he said he just wanted to get out of there.
