High Hunt - big bucks

I think there was someone that had posted success photos from the high hunt and followed it up with, lots of work, over 10 years of hunting....2nd deer in that ten years.

It's not just the work to get in there to hunt it is the work that goes into all of the scouting to know where they are once the hunt starts.

Hats off to the guys that put in the work and are successful.

We packed 19 camps with 61 hunters.  Those camps were scattered through 3 wilderness areas from the Kittitas County line to the south shore of Lake Chelan.
We definitely were not the only guys; there were some who used private horses and mules to go in and many backpacked.  Our clients probably represented about 20% of the total hunters.  Plenty of room for everybody; solitude is one of the reasons to hunt the high hunt but the October pack in hunts are even more free of people.

LOL!  That is a laughable comment.  Overselling it a bit?  Every year the parking lot around the major trail heads are packed.

I will say that there are areas off the trail that can give you solitude.  I assure you, horses or mules are not going in that route.

It's pretty hard to oversell Icicle Outfitters.  I've worked as a hunting guide in British Columbia, Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho, and personally hunted in Colorado, Utah, California, and Washington as well.  I haven't seen very many places or outfitters who produce the type of success they do year after year, especially considering they are hunting the People's Republic of Washington.  Good work Muleracks.
