How to actually buy your license from a dealer
« on: October 08, 2013, 03:55:14 PM »
So, I have ran into a few issues just trying to buy a trapping license from dealers and I thought I would post a quick how to, for those who run into the same issue.

Please note, this is for the trappers who have already gone through trappers ed.

This was is my second year buying a trappers license. There can be some issues your first year, the dealer having to call the WDFW etc...see the sticky at the top of the trapper forum. However, I have noticed several times, when I try to buy a license from a dealer, (wal mart, cabelas, etc) none have known how to do it, so I made the clerk call the dept and walk him through it. I watched how he did it on his comp, so you can explain to the salesmen if you go in and run into the same issue.

1. Once they have inputted your info (drivers license, wild id, etc) to see your account onscreen they can access a "education" tab.
2. Have them click on the education tab and it lists "Hunters Education, Master Hunter, TRAPPERS EDUCATION, etc..."
3. Have them select "Trapping Ed".
4. Once they have selected that, they can hit the continue bar (which saves what they selected).
5. Then it is just a simple matter of going under "Small Game" tab in the license section and your trappers license option will have appeared.

Might save some run around for people....now getting them to find the right sku to price it correctly is another thing.... :chuckle:
