What became of these Whidbey Island bucks?
« on: October 09, 2013, 02:48:09 PM »
Hey, do any of you islanders know about the fate of these two bucks? I have tons of photos of these two over multiple years, and I've been tracking their antler progression. I heard rumors about the smaller one being harvested in 2009, and I think the larger one may have been harvested that year as well since he disappeared after that fall. The pictures I have of the larger buck were taken in 2008, and the ones for the small buck were taken in 2009. The small buck only had half a tail...it was pretty short. Just curious what happened, and want to congratulate  the hunters who took these unique bucks. They hung out near Ft. Casey.

They have a better chance of being hit by cars than harvested on the island.   :yike:

I have friends who kill big island bucks every year, but I don't know what happened to those two.

Figured as much but hoping someone was lucky enough to bag them. I know the sheds from the picture of the big guy are still out there somewhere, since I saw him the next spring w/o 'em.
