Big n small

Well the idea was to hunt near Republic, but then I got the email Thursday morning, some opening came up on the 5,000 acre property we hunt on even years so we bagged Republic for odds of getting more than just a deer sighting.
We ended up seeing 15 bucks in 3 days 68 deer total.
I took a 4x5 W T @ 30 yards opening morning, glad I had the leupold at 1.75 power, 2 shots from the .358 Winchester and he was down! My second best WT, i was pleased! We passed up 7 2-point muleys trying to find a legal buck for the wife to shoot, finally at 2:30 in the afternnoon we jumped this little fella an the wife took out the top of his heart at 75 yards on the run! I was impressed! She named her buck "Deer Candy!"

Good times. Congrats on filling the freezer and a nice buck.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield
